Job Description

Role Description The Manager / Assistant Manager – Business Development is a full-time, on-site role based at Wisma Genting, Kuala Lumpur, reporting to the Vice President – Business Development.

The role supports the identification, evaluation and implementation of new business opportunities, strategic partnerships and ventures that contribute to Genting Property's long-term growth. This includes researching emerging industries, technologies and business models, assessing commercial potential, and developing recommendations for management.

Key responsibilities include preparing business cases, financial analyses, proposals and management presentations, as well as supporting partner sourcing and stakeholder engagement. The role also coordinates with internal teams and external partners to progress approved initiatives from initial assessment through to implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Strategic Analysis

  • Conduct market and industry research on emerging trends, technologies, business models and potential growth opportunities.
  • Evaluate new business ventures, strategic collaborations and opportunities to enter new markets or sectors.
  • Translate research and data into clear insights, presentations and recommendations for senior management.
  • Maintain and enhance internal market intelligence databases and knowledge resources.

Business Evaluation & Commercial Analysis

  • Prepare business cases, proposals and Board/management papers to support new ventures and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop financial models and commercial assessments to evaluate business potential, investment requirements and expected returns.
  • Conduct scenario analysis, sensitivity testing and risk assessments to support informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of business models, commercial structures and implementation plans.

Execution & Initiative Management

  • Support the execution of business development initiatives from initial assessment through to implementation.
  • Identify and engage potential business partners, technology providers, consultants and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support partnership discussions, commercial arrangements and internal approval processes.
  • Coordinate timelines, deliverables and cross-functional activities to ensure timely progress of approved initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in business development, corporate strategy, commercial analysis, investment evaluation or related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial modelling and business case development.
  • Ability to synthesise research and data into clear, structured insights and presentations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Interest in emerging technologies, new business models and opportunities across different industries.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently across multiple initiatives.
  • Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Good written and spoken Chinese and English languages.
