We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Buyer to lead our Beauty and Personal Care category buying function.

Position Summary: This role will be responsible for leading the buying strategy, processes, and operations within the organization. This role includes managing product selection, supplier negotiations, and ensuring that the right products are available at the right time for our retail pharmacy outlets. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in buying within the retail pharmacy or healthcare industry, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Buying Planning:

  • Develop and implement buying strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for profitable buying decisions.
  • Collaborate with senior management to forecast buying needs and budget requirements.

Supplier Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong, productive partnerships.

Product Selection and Inventory Management:

  • Oversee product selection to ensure the optimal mix of products that meet customer needs and company goals.
  • Implement inventory control systems to track and manage buying activities.
  • Coordinate with store managers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of products.

Contract Management:

  • Draft, review, and manage buying contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Resolve any contractual disputes with suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all buying contracts and transactions.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the buying team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure the team is well-trained on buying best practices and industry standards.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including disruptions, quality issues, and non-compliance.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure business continuity.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all buying activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on buying performance, cost savings, and other key metrics to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in buying, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the retail pharmacy or healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
