Job Summary
The Manager - Data Analytics will be responsible for establishing the data analytics framework, strategy, tools, and capabilities to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic value of audit activities across the Group. This role will work closely with Head of GIAD (Group Internal Audit Department), audit teams, business units, and senior management to drive data-driven auditing and insights, supporting the Group's commitment to strong governance, risk management, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and Managethe Data Analytics Unit:
- Design, develop, and implement the data analytics strategy, roadmap, and infrastructure for GIAD.
- Assist the Head of GIAD to recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing data analytics team.
Data Analytics Enablement for Audits:
- Collaborate with Business Unit (BU) Portfolio Audit Managers to Integrate data analytics into audit planning, risk assessments, and execution activities.
- Develop advanced analytics, continuous monitoring, and automated testing to enhance audit coverage and effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with BU Portfolio Audit Managers to identify opportunities where data analytics can add value.
- Engage with IT, data owners, and business units to facilitate access to relevant data sources and ensure data quality and governance.
Tooling, Technology, and Innovation:
- Identify, recommend, and implement appropriate data analytics tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, Power BI, Python-based tools, etc.).
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in data analytics and internal auditing.
Governance and Reporting:
- Assist the Head of GIAD to develop dashboards and visualization tools to provide insightful reporting for audit committees and senior management.
- Establish governance protocols for data access, privacy, and ethical use within audit activities.
Capability Building:
- Assist the Head of GIAD to build awareness, capabilities, and a culture of data-driven auditing within GIAD.
- Conduct training and workshops for audit teams on leveraging data analytics.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, or a related discipline
- Professional certification such as CISA, CIA, CFE, CA, CPA, or certifications in Data Analytics (e.g. Microsoft Data Analyst Associate) are advantageous
- Minimum 3-4 years experience in data analytics, internal audit, risk management, or a related field
- Experienced in setting up data analytics initiatives, preferably within audit or assurance functions
- Strong hands-on technical expertise with data extraction, analysis, visualization, and reporting tools
- Strategic thinker with strong project management skills and the ability to drive change
- Expertise in SQL, data modelling, scripting languages (e.g. Python, R), and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong leadership, influencing and communicating skills
- High integrity, professionalism, and ability to work independently and in teams
