YOUR ROLE AS A: Manager, Employee Relations

Position Summary

The Manager, Employee Relations is responsible for managing employee relations matters across the organisation, ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices. This role will handle workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and employment disputes, while providing advisory support to business leaders and People teams. Regional knowledge of employment laws across Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end employee relations cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, misconduct, and workplace investigations.

  • Advise business leaders and People teams on employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with Malaysian labour laws and company policies.

  • Represent the company in employment-related proceedings, including attending labour office engagements and employment court/industrial relations hearings.

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, with a strong focus on Malaysia regional exposure (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines) is an advantage.

  • Develop and review HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are up to date and aligned with legal requirements and best practices.

  • Support conflict resolution and mediation efforts, fostering a fair and positive work environment.

  • Maintain proper documentation and case management records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Provide training and guidance to managers on employee relations, disciplinary processes, and legal compliance.

  • Monitor trends and risks in employee relations, recommending proactive measures to mitigate issues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, or a related field.

  • 5-8 years of experience in employee relations, industrial relations, or HR advisory roles.

  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment and labour laws.

  • Proven experience handling employment disputes and attending labour court / industrial court matters.

  • Exposure to regional employment laws (Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines) is an advantage.

  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

  • High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality.
