Responsible for managing information technology infrastructure as well within AIA and providing technical support to internal users.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain efficient, secure, and scalable database solutions.
- Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning techniques to optimize system efficiency.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions into application development projects.
- Perform regular database maintenance, including updates, upgrades, and patching.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Document database administration processes and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in database technology.
- Shift duty and on-call may be required
Communication Requirements:
Internal (70%)
- Actively communicate with project teams, including PM and architects in the project
- Periodically review meeting with management team on company architecture
External (30%)
- Actively communicate with Kyndryl
- Independently manage requests from related state holders
- Periodically meeting with key project owners to get feedback on deliveries
- Exert strong influencing and positive win/win negotiation skill with stakeholders via continuous dialogue to impact choices on project planning and implementation and to keep the project on course
Most challenging type of communication – Collaborate/ co-work with Kyndryl to ensure alignment among database domain. Associated with proposed/ alternative database solutions
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a DBA in a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems, such as Azure SQL, MS SQL Server.
- Proven experience with database design and architecture.
- Excellent understanding of database security best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate
- Effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Certification in database administration (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator) is preferred.
