About The Job

We are looking for an experienced Finance manager to join our dynamic finance division in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial operations, process optimization, and team leadership within the insurance industry. This role ensures accurate payment processing, timely reconciliation, and efficient operations while leading a centralization project to integrate payment process and operating work from multiple entities.

  • Oversee the Payment Team: Manage finance tasks including payment processing, payment reconciliation, cash management, service level agreements for centralized services, and other financial activities across multiple entities.
  • Reconciliation & Reporting: Ensure monthly payment statistics and periodic account payable reconciliations are completed accurately, with discrepancies identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline financial and payment processes, reduce manual intervention, and enhance productivity across cash management, investment operations, and accounts payable (AP) functions. Implement process improvements and automation tools that support strategic initiatives and drive operational excellence.
  • Project Leadership: Lead centralization projects aimed at integrating payment operations from various entities into a unified process. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize procedures, implement best practices, and improve overall operational efficiency. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the AP module in the Oracle Fusion project to upgrade the accounting system to the cloud. Lead other ad hoc initiatives and projects such as the Payment Straight-Through initiative and the Service Tax (SST) project.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage, mentor, and develop the payment teams to ensure high performance and continuous professional growth. Allocate resources effectively and foster a collaborative team environment focused on achieving departmental and organizational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Act as the primary liaison between finance teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to ensure alignment and effective communication. Present regular updates, performance metrics, and project progress reports to senior management.
  • Audit & Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in all payment activities. Coordinate with internal and external auditors, addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions.

  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

We are looking for people who

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Finance or a related field. Relevant experience in shared services is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in finance supervisory roles, or a minimum of 3 years of audit experience. Candidates with insurance accounting knowledge or experience managing more than 15 team members will have an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with effectiveness in stakeholder management.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to analyze and manage conflicts.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, with a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in finance operations deliverables and documentation.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
