Summary of Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the bookkeeping and month end close of a key subsidiary of the Group.
- A key member in back-office system replacement project automate daily and month end closing.
- Oversee a team of 2, comprises of Senior Associate and Associate.
Accounting & Financial Control:
- Lead and manage the Finance Futures Support team in GL support and bookkeeping, daily and monthly closing for a subsidiary, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure all regulatory submissions are accurate and compliant with the relevant requirements.
- Review team members work to ensure an accurate and timely month end close.
- Partner with the Management Reporting team to meet all financial and regulatory reporting deadlines.
- Liaise with auditors during the statutory audit process.
- Participate in project meetings (e.g., backoffice system changes) and collaborate closely with business units and other support functions.
- Perform GL analytics and assess business performance.
- Ensure all internal controls for operations and financial reporting are properly implemented and followed.
- Drive ongoing process improvements, including automation and simplification initiatives.
- Provide adhoc support to the Associate Director and Head of Finance.
Educational Qualifications & Years of Relevant Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or professional qualification in accounting (ACCA / CPA / MICPA/ CIMA)
- Minimum 7-10 years of working experience.
- A solid understanding of accounting principle and financial transactions.
- Background in stockbroking, banking or financial services industry is an added advantage.
- Experience in managing a team of 2-5 members.
Skills
- Fluent in English and Malay (both written and spoken).
- Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced user in Excel, Words, PowerPoint etc).
