Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the bookkeeping and month end close of a key subsidiary of the Group.
  • A key member in back-office system replacement project automate daily and month end closing.
  • Oversee a team of 2, comprises of Senior Associate and Associate.

Accounting & Financial Control:

  • Lead and manage the Finance Futures Support team in GL support and bookkeeping, daily and monthly closing for a subsidiary, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure all regulatory submissions are accurate and compliant with the relevant requirements.
  • Review team members work to ensure an accurate and timely month end close.
  • Partner with the Management Reporting team to meet all financial and regulatory reporting deadlines.
  • Liaise with auditors during the statutory audit process.
  • Participate in project meetings (e.g., backoffice system changes) and collaborate closely with business units and other support functions.
  • Perform GL analytics and assess business performance.
  • Ensure all internal controls for operations and financial reporting are properly implemented and followed.
  • Drive ongoing process improvements, including automation and simplification initiatives.
  • Provide adhoc support to the Associate Director and Head of Finance.

Educational Qualifications & Years of Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or professional qualification in accounting (ACCA / CPA / MICPA/ CIMA)
  • Minimum 7-10 years of working experience.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principle and financial transactions.
  • Background in stockbroking, banking or financial services industry is an added advantage.
  • Experience in managing a team of 2-5 members.

Skills

  • Fluent in English and Malay (both written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced user in Excel, Words, PowerPoint etc).
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced growing organization / environment.
