POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Financial Reporting will report to the Head of Finance is responsible in providing accurate and timely Group & Companies periodical statutory financial reporting, management reporting, treasury management, annual budget exercise and preparation of financial forecasts in compliance with the Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards and the Group's accounting policies & procedures to ensure management meet the statutory requirements and achieve its strategic business goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management Accounts and Group Reporting
- Ensure the accounts are prepared in accordance with the Group's policies and procedures and internal controls.
- Observe the deadlines set by the Group.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation (BHIC) and dormant companies.
- Review of monthly management reports prepared by the subsidiary Accountants.
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for BHIC Groups and disclose all significant activities undertaken in the reports to BHB / LTAT.
- Liaise with the external auditors, company secretary and tax agents in relation to annual statutory audits and tax submissions.
Treasury Management
- Ensure all unutilised funds placed in BHIC company are monitored.
- Oversees the utilisation and drawdown of BHIC company's credit facilities.
- Compilation of monthly treasury report for BHIC Group to BHB.
Cash Flows Report
- Review of cash flows reports and projections submitted by BHIC Group accountants.
- Preparation of BHIC company cash flow report and projections.
Budget and Forecast
- Preparation of annual and mid-year budgets for BHIC Group.
- Review the budgets submitted by BHIC Group of companies for the Annual Operating Plan and ensuring the reasonableness of the budget.
- Preparation of consolidated BHIC Group budget for BHB.
- Adhere to the Annual Operating Plan reporting timeline set by the Group and BHB.
- Preparation of BHIC Group financial forecast for management reporting purposes.
BHIC Annual Integrated Report
- Obtain relevant inputs from Operating Companies and Departments for the purpose of drafting the Chairman's and CEO's statements.
- Ensure a smooth and timely progress in the production of the annual report by working closely with relevant stakeholders including external auditors as well as annual report consultants.
Ad-hoc assignments
- To facilitate any request from immediate superior for any ad-hoc requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and professional accounting qualification (e.g. MICPA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CPA Australia, CAANZ, AICPA etc.).
Experience and Ability
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and experience in Big4 would be an added advantage.
- Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
- Good knowledge and strong technical skill in accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS)
- Knowledge in Corporate tax (ITA), Indirect taxes, CA, Accounting software SAP
- Strong computer and spreadsheet skills
- Very strong skill in doing accounts consolidation and reporting
- Independent, Attention to detail, analytical thinking, multi-tasker
- Experience in preparing Audited Financial Statements
