Job Summary:
To lead and institutionalize a compliant and efficient People Operations and Employee Relations function, ensuring payroll accuracy, policy governance, audit readiness, and consistent employee experience across YYC Group. This role is the operational backbone of People & Culture, ensuring YYC's people practices are On-Time, On-Point, and On-Our-Mind, while building trust, discipline, and risk resilience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Payroll Excellence
- Oversee end-to-end HR operations including payroll, statutory compliance, employee lifecycle administration, and records management
- Ensure 100% payroll accuracy and timeliness, including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, and benefits administration
- Partner closely with Finance to reconcile payroll costs, provisions, and audit requirements
- Continuously improve HR operational workflows to reduce manual dependency and operational risk
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Act as the primary advisor on employee relations matters including misconduct, grievances, performance issues, and disciplinary actions
- Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant handling of people cases in line with Employment Act and best practices
- Maintain strong documentation, investigation processes, and case closure discipline
- Proactively identify ER risk trends and advise CPCO / Management on mitigation actions
Policy, SOP & Audit Governance
- Lead the development, review, and institutionalization of HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbook
- Ensure HR policies are aligned with labour laws, internal governance, and IPO-readiness standards
- Act as HR audit lead for internal and external audits (ISO, statutory, internal governance reviews)
- Always maintain audit-ready HR documentation and evidence
HRIS & Process Discipline (Execution Ownership)
- Act as business owner for HR operations within HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, system hygiene, and disciplined usage
- Partner with MyWave/Emplx and Rewards lead on system enhancements, reporting needs, and process automation
- Ensure clean employee data, document management, and system compliance across all BUs
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and coach Rewards Team
- Set clear KPIs, service standards, and turnaround times
- Build a culture of accountability, confidentiality, accuracy, and service excellence
Job Requirements:
- Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (preferred). Ability to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage, as the role may involve liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients or stakeholders.
