Job Title: Manager, Lean

Location: Plaza OSK, (Jalan Ampang, KL)

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES:

Leads the planning, deployment, and governance of Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives across manufacturing and business operations. Partners with business leaders, operations, production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and support teams to identify improvement opportunities, eliminate waste, reduce variation, strengthen process discipline, and deliver sustainable productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and service improvements.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

  • Lead the development, deployment, and governance of Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives across assigned manufacturing areas, business units, or Group functions.
  • Identify, prioritise, and validate improvement opportunities through process observations, Gemba walks, value stream mapping, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and review of operational performance indicators.
  • Facilitate and coach teams in structured problem-solving, Kaizen events, root cause analysis, improvement workshops, and project execution using methods such as DMAIC, PDCA, A3 thinking, 5 Why, fishbone analysis, and Pareto analysis.
  • Work with business leaders, operations, production, quality, maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and support teams to implement improvement actions that enhance productivity, quality, delivery, safety, cost efficiency, process stability, and customer experience.
  • Establish, standardise, and sustain Lean practices, including standard work, visual management, 5S, control plans, daily management routines, check sheets, and performance tracking mechanisms.
  • Manage the continuous improvement project portfolio, track delivery progress, validate benefits, prepare management reports, and monitor key outcomes such as cost savings, waste reduction, quality improvement, productivity gains, cycle time reduction, and other operational KPIs.
  • Develop continuous improvement capability by training, coaching, and mentoring employees, supervisors, engineers, managers, and project teams on Lean principles, problem-solving tools, waste identification, change adoption, and sustainment practices.
  • Monitor the sustainability of implemented improvements through audits, performance reviews, control checks, standard work verification, and engagement with process owners to ensure improvements are embedded into daily operations and continuously enhanced.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification in business, operations, or continuous improvement will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, Lean implementation, continuous improvement, operational excellence, quality improvement, industrial engineering, or process transformation roles, with experience leading cross-functional improvement projects or teams.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is required; Black Belt certification, Lean Practitioner certification, Kaizen facilitation experience, or equivalent operational excellence credentials will be highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies, including DMAIC, value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, standard work, visual management, root cause analysis, process capability, control plans, Gemba walks, and performance management systems.
  • Ability to analyse operational data, identify improvement priorities, quantify business benefits, track project performance, and present clear recommendations to management using structured problem-solving and data-driven decision-making methods.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, guide process owners, and build continuous improvement capability across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategic, hands-on, and results-driven approach, with strong discipline in governance, execution, benefit realisation, standardisation, sustainability, and continuous improvement culture development.
