Job Title: QA Manager

Location: Mercu Tower 3, KL Eco City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Type: Full-time | Permanent Position (Client Permanent Payroll)

Reporting To: IT Solutions Delivery Lead

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead and govern QA practices across enterprise technology initiatives, with a strong focus on life and general insurance domain applications. Based in our client's Malaysia office, the QA Manager will play a pivotal role in defining, implementing, and maintaining robust testing strategies and operating models that ensure quality and timely delivery of software solutions across business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Strategy:

  • Define and maintain a comprehensive QA framework across projects.
  • Govern Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) initiatives.
  • Drive implementation of the Testing Operating Model and ensure adherence across the organization.
  • Ensure requirement traceability and alignment to test scope.
  • Provide metrics and reporting on test quality, coverage, and benefits.

Test Planning & Management:

  • Create test strategies and detailed QA/UAT test plans including test matrices, test cycles, and resource plans.
  • Manage QA resource allocation and demand forecasting.
  • Conduct effort estimations for QA and UAT activities.
  • Plan and manage dependencies, risks, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Coordinate test environment setup (hardware/software).
  • Provide business readiness and go-live provisioning support.

Test Execution & Delivery:

  • Oversee test execution cycles, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Assign and manage tasks for QA and UAT resources.
  • Consolidate and facilitate test scenarios, test cases, and test data aligned with business processes.
  • Track and report progress to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure defect management and consistent documentation practices.

People Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor QA team members, initially focusing on Singapore BU support.
  • Act as the Person-in-Charge (PIC) for QA resources in Malaysia.
  • Onboard and coach new QA team members.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and inclusive QA team culture.
  • Align team efforts with organizational goals and enable continuous learning.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Insurance, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Life and General Insurance industry in QA-related roles.
  • Proven experience leading QA teams and managing enterprise test strategies.
  • Strong exposure to system implementation projects.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of Life and General Insurance products and business processes.
  • Familiarity with Life Asia and Group Asia applications (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of test management methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
  • Excellent in creating test strategies, plans, and scenarios with end-to-end traceability.
  • Ability to drive quality across manual and UAT cycles; automation testing experience is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Skilled in handling tight timelines and multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Proficient in business and financial analysis, test metrics, and process optimization.
