Position Overview

Reporting to Regional Valuation Actuary, APAC, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and oversight to the Asian region on US GAAP financial reporting and analysis, Prophet model development, experience studies, LDTI value reporting, business planning and various other global and regional initiatives. Depending on task allocation within the team, the role will also involve in assignment such as review production, process improvements and short-term local market secondment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support/Lead regional oversight of the quarterly US GAAP results and annual business plan, as well as US Stat, US Tax, local regulatory and local FRS for assigned markets
  • Guide/lead in aspects and results of IFRS 17 in Asia
  • Review of LDTI value and economic capital results in the region
  • Lead/Drive regional initiatives to improve consistency of reporting throughout the region
  • Identify and lead implementation of improvements to process and controls in the region
  • Initiate/Provide training and guidance to the region on existing and emerging reporting bases
  • Lead valuation initiatives in the region as needed and called upon

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in actuarial science or in mathematics (required).
  • Qualified fellows or nearly qualified associates with at least 7 years working experience in life insurance/reinsurance companies (required).
  • Hands on valuation experience, in particular LDTI reporting and/or IFRS17 reporting (preferred).
  • Prophet modeling experience (preferred).
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (required).
  • Highly motivated, conceptual thinker who is able to lead/collaborate in a team environment or work independently and take a leadership role in a wide variety of assignments (required).
