Key Responsibilities:
Shariah Secretariat:-
a) To provide the secretarial support for SC meeting which entails the following :-
b) Undertaking administrative and secretarial functions to support the Shariah committee which entails the following
c) To assist the SC Chairman in organizing the engagement session between the Board and SC.
d) Ensuring that AIS publications and website content are in accordance with Shariah requirements.
e) To review Shariah related policies and procedures as per the Bank's policy.
f) To review the SC's report in the annual Financial Report and SC members profiles in the Governance Report.
g) Notifying the Secretariat of the SAC in the event where the SC decides or advises to place additional restrictions on the operations, business, affairs and activities of AIS in applying the SAC rulings;
h) iaison personnel to communicate with Secretariat of the SAC for a ruling or advice in cases where the SAC has not made any rulings on a particular matter or the SC is not able to arrive at a decision or advice. The request for a ruling or advice shall be in accordance with Manual Rujukan Institusi Kewangan Islam kepada Majlis Penasihat Syariah;
i) To safekeep and maintain secretarial records.
Zakat Administration:
To assist the coordination of all aspect of zakat administration which includes develop and review zakat policy, compute zakat, obtain approval for zakat payout to the eligible asnaf and hold zakat events.
Expanded Role:
a) To provide Shariah advisory by attending to queries raised by LOBs.
b)To perform Shariah research for Shariah issues that require deliberation by Shariah committee as the other team members focus on other pressing issues.
c)To provide support to Sociobiz in particular in selecting social enterprise partners in accordance with zakat policy.
d)Preparation of Board papers on zakat, sociobiz and SC's Fit and Proper Assesment.
