Job Description

The Manager in Wealth Sales is responsible to lead and manage a team of wealth specialists together with the Head of Wealth Sales, to drive the bank's wealth solutions. The incumbent will develop and execute sales strategies, strengthen customer relationships and ensure the achievement of business targets while maintaining regulatory compliance and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership and Business Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales, revenue and growth targets for wealth products.
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of wealth specialists / wealth sales teams to maximize sales performance and enhance customer experience.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand the bank's wealth portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., product, marketing, and digital teams) to enhance product offerings and sales strategies.
  • To work with the Regional Directors and Head of Sales to develop a wealth business plan for the Bank.

Wealth Solutions & Product Management

  • Oversee the promotion and distribution of key wealth products, including (but not limited to) gold accounts, unit trusts, and Banca Takaful.
  • Ensure effective cross-selling of wealth solutions to enhance customer portfolio diversification, improve retention rates and increase customer loyalty.
  • Drive initiatives to increase product penetration and customer engagement.

Team Development & Performance Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing wealth sales team.
  • Set clear sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for team members.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, motivation, and performance feedback to ensure continuous improvement.

Customer Relationship & Advisory Excellence

  • Strengthen customer relationships by ensuring high-quality advisory services.
  • Drive a customer-centric sales culture to meet clients financial needs.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers to provide tailored wealth solutions to customers.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical sales practices.
  • Mitigate risks by ensuring proper due diligence, customer suitability assessments, and compliance with wealth product guidelines.
  • Work closely with risk and compliance teams to address any regulatory concerns.

Training & Development

  • Work closely with Sales Managers & Wealth Specialists to identify interventions and execute activities required to achieve high service standards and customer experience in the distribution network.
  • Plan training programs required for branches based on the requirement identified from the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to ensure professional development of talent among branch staff.
  • Define goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensure effective implementation of the MBSB performance management process.
  • Develop talent within the team by providing guidance and coaching to achieve defined goals.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Banking, Business, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CFP, CFA, RFP) is an advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in wealth management, investment sales, or bancassurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of wealth products, investment solutions, and financial advisory.
  • Proven track record in sales and business development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in wealth management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPI):

  • Achievement of sales targets for wealth products.
  • Growth in customer base and product penetration.
  • Productivity and performance of the wealth sales team.
  • Customer satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Compliance with regulatory and internal policies.

You will also be working closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as regions, branches, other departments, and customers and service providers.
