Role Overview
As Managing Editor, you will drive the overall editorial vision, digital storytelling, and brand innovation for one of Malaysia's leading women empowerment and lifestyle platforms. This role focuses on crafting inspiring, high-quality content that highlights women's achievements, leadership, beauty, and lifestyle aspirations, while expanding audience engagement across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead editorial strategy and manage the content calendar across web, social media, and video platforms
- Champion empowering narratives that celebrate women's success through credible and impactful storytelling
- Oversee and guide editors, writers, producers, content creators, and community teams
- Collaborate with commercial teams to develop premium campaigns and revenue-driven content
- Curate and verify profiles of leaders, entrepreneurs, celebrities, professionals, and changemakers
- Maintain high standards of content quality, tone, brand identity, and ethical storytelling
- Leverage analytics and platform insights to drive growth and audience engagement
- Spearhead special initiatives such as awards, events, interviews, web series, and brand collaborations
- Build strong partnerships with women-focused organizations, industry leaders, media partners, brands, and influencers
- Strengthen community presence both online and through on-ground initiatives
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media, Marketing, or a related field
- 510 years of experience in editorial or content leadership
- Strong capabilities in strategic planning, creative storytelling, and team leadership
- Excellent proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English, with the ability to represent the brand confidently
- Ability to safeguard brand integrity and manage sensitive public narratives responsibly
- Solid understanding of digital trends, video content, SEO, analytics, and social media storytelling
- Creative, confident, and able to inspire teams with forward-thinking ideas
