Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will support market development and strengthen ABB's Service business by positioning our service offerings effectively and contributing to targeted sales and marketing initiatives. You will evaluate service applications, develop customerfocused solutions, and proactively identify new business opportunities in close collaboration with customers and ABB sales teams. You will also provide consulting support across divisions, ensuring highquality and costeffective implementation of service solutions.

The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite, #LI-hybrid

This role is contributing to the Electrification Services business in Malaysia.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Market Development:

  • Supporting the process of defining marketing and sales targets segments, customers and geographies and monitor the performance in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensuring profitable business growth focused on orders, revenues, margins, market shares, and customer satisfaction, as well as the implementation of particular product, application, and segment initiatives in close collaboration with the division stakeholders.

  • Proposing solutions and working on consulting assignments, using established standards, methods, and technologies, to develop solutions.

  • Product Technical and Application Support:

  • Supporting the Marketing & Sales team on MV and LV switchgear and products which include relays and circuit breakers, for both AIS and GIS, including monitoring & diagnostics, digital solutions and automatic transfer schemes

  • When required by the Marketing & Sales team, to attend customer Sales meetings, technical clarifications and site visits to provide the above product application support or obtain necessary inputs and information to be able to develop the best solution for the customer

  • To continuously learn and improve knowledge on the latest products and solutions being developed by ABB that will be applicable for the Service business

  • Determining effective Service applications, equipment, and methods to develop, market, and propose solutions to meet the needs of the customer or develop new service offerings to respond to customer requirements cost-effectively.

  • Providing consulting on Service solutions to management and customers ensuring quality and timely implementation within targeted cost.

  • Identifying new sales opportunities, proactively communicating both with the customer and ABB sales teams to ensure customer needs are understood and business opportunities utilized for service growth.Implementing activities for agreed cross-divisional, product group, and regional initiatives.


Qualifications for the role

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience in Electrical Systems related to MV and LV switchgears, with particular knowledge in maintenance, retrofits, upgrades and panel extensions.

  • You have minimum 5 years experience MV and LV switchgear and products either in a Sales, Project Management, Engineering or Tendering function.

  • Having knowledge on electrical schemes such as ATS and being familiar with schematic drawings and circuit diagrams will be an advantage.

  • You are passionate about driving digitalisation and sustainability in the market by positioning solutions around these elements in business offerings.

  • You are at ease communicating in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

  • You are Malaysian and familiar with the culture and landscape of customers in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
