Role Description

The Marketing Executive Intern will support SECOM Smart Malaysia's marketing efforts by combining market analysis with social media content creation. This role is ideal for someone who is both analytical and creative—capable of turning market insights into engaging content that strengthens brand positioning, improves lead quality, and communicates SECOM Smart's value beyond CCTV and alarms, especially its 24/7 professional monitoring services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Conduct research on competitors in Malaysia's security and smart solutions industry
  • Analyze competitor campaigns, messaging, pricing, and promotions
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to position SECOM Smart more effectively
  • Support development of customer insights across residential, SME, and corporate segments

2. Social Media Content Creation

  • Plan and create content for platforms such as LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Develop engaging posts that highlight SECOM Smart's solutions, monitoring services, and brand reputation
  • Assist in writing captions, basic visual direction, and content ideas (static, carousel, short videos)
  • Ensure content aligns with brand voice and marketing objectives

3. Content Strategy Support

  • Use market insights to propose relevant and timely content themes
  • Support monthly content calendar planning
  • Suggest content angles that improve engagement and attract higher-quality leads

4. Performance Tracking & Insights

  • Monitor social media performance (engagement, reach, lead inquiries)
  • Identify top-performing content and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Assist in preparing simple weekly/monthly reports

5. Campaign & Marketing Support

  • Assist in executing marketing campaigns and promotions
  • Support integration of content with lead generation efforts (ads, WhatsApp funnel)
  • Provide ad-hoc support for marketing initiatives and projects

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Strong interest in social media, content creation, and branding
  • Basic analytical skills and curiosity about market trends
  • Good writing skills (especially for social media captions)
  • Proactive, creative, and willing to learn 

Preferred (Bonus)

  • Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe tools, Capcut etc)
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, Tiktok or META content formats
