Job Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible to lead and drive category growth to support company's business and brands objectives. The incumbent manages the Brand Marketing to drive the development of marketing and brand strategies of assigned category in Malaysia. The incumbent will work closely with Marketing Innovation Team to ensure inputs are provided strategically and timely into overall Brand strategies in Annual Views and ongoing innovation projects. The incumbent will also partner Trade Marketing team to ensure tight translation of Brand strategies into Trade marketing activities in respective channels.
You will play an essential role to:
1) Brand Management
- Lead the development and execution of brand and marketing strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Collaborate with Trade Marketing to develop channel and promotional strategies.
- Drive integrated category plans including annual marketing plans, communication plans, media plans, digital campaigns, sampling activities, and consumer promotions.
- Monitor category and business performance through regular business reviews and commercial meetings.
- Ensure brand consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all marketing activities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize campaign execution and business performance.
2) Consumer, Competitor & Market Analysis
- Analyze market trends, consumer insights, competitor activities, and category performance to identify business opportunities.
- Translate consumer and market insights into actionable marketing strategies and concepts.
- Guide the team in data analysis and recommend improvements to strengthen brand performance.
- Conduct competitor analysis regularly to support strategic planning and proactive actions.
3) Agency & Stakeholder Management
- Manage relationships with creative, media, PR, promotion, and event agencies to ensure effective collaboration and performance.
- Support and manage agency pitch processes and evaluations to ensure achievement of KPIs and business objectives.
- Lead communication effectiveness analysis and provide insights to improve future marketing plans.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful marketing execution.
4) Budget Management
- Manage and optimize category marketing budgets, including Trade Marketing budgets, to maximize effectiveness and achieve business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies while maintaining strong marketing performance.
5) Leadership & Team Management
- Build and maintain a high-performing and collaborative team culture through effective coaching, communication, and performance management.
- Lead and prioritize projects while balancing strategic and operational responsibilities.
- Drive collaboration across cross-functional teams to support marketing strategies and execution.
- Support team development, recruitment, and establishment of KPIs aligned with business objectives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, ways of working, and overall team effectiveness.
To be successful in this application, you will need to have:
- Minimum 8–10 years of working experience in a multinational FMCG company with a strong marketing background.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or middle management role.
- Experience managing and collaborating with external agencies and partners.
- Strong understanding of the local media landscape and marketing environment.
- Highly analytical with the ability to interpret complex data and generate consumer, category, and channel insights.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate differing opinions professionally.
- Good business acumen, teamwork, communication, and project management skills with strong execution capability.
