Job Description

Company Description Devol Robots is building physics-aware embodied AI that enables robots to see, feel, and predict physical interaction in complex manipulation tasks. The company focuses on turning high-level objectives into precise, human-safe robotic actions across a wide range of platforms, including robotic arms, bimanual, and humanoid systems. Its patent-backed technology replaces rigid, scripted behaviors with adaptable, goal-seeking autonomy that performs reliably at scale. Devol Robots offers deployment-ready solutions designed to bring advanced robotic capabilities into real-world environments and industries.

Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer intern will support the design and development of robotic hardware components, mechanisms, and assemblies that integrate with Devol Robots embodied AI systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and updating 3D models and engineering drawings, assisting in mechanical analysis and calculations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine product requirements. The intern will participate in prototyping, testing, and design iterations to improve performance, safety, and reliability of robotic systems. This is an internship role that is on-site, located in Damansara, and requires close collaboration with engineering and product teams in the lab and workshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to robotic and mechanical systems.
  • Experience or coursework in Machine Design and Product Design, including mechanisms, materials selection, and tolerance considerations.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion 360, or similar) for modeling and drafting.
  • Currently pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, perform basic engineering calculations, and document design decisions clearly.
  • Comfort working in an on-site lab or workshop setting, including participation in assembly, prototyping, and basic testing activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in robotics, embodied AI, or automation; prior project experience in robotics or motion systems is an advantage.
