The Opportunity

We partner with leading global companies to power next-generation AI solutions, and we're opening a new gigwork opportunity for medically trained professionals who want to earn while contributing to a short-term, paid medical image annotation project.

You'll work with pre-selected video frames from surgeries, helping train AI systems to better understand surgical tools, anatomy, and their interactions.

Your expertise will directly support the development of safer, highly accurate medical AI. If you have a medical background and are comfortable interpreting surgical visuals, we'd love to work with you.

Requirements

What will I be doing

  • Annotate selected surgical image frames using an online annotation platform
  • Perform instance segmentation of surgical tools and anatomical structures
  • Accurately annotate surgical tools and anatomical structures in Gastric Bypass and Hemicolectomy procedures, following the provided guidelines
  • Label and apply predefined relationships or interactions between tools, actions, and anatomy
  • Select interaction verbs from an approved list (no free-text labelling)
  • Carefully define boundaries between tools and tissue
  • Follow detailed annotation guidelines and SOPs for each workflow
  • Review and validate annotations for accuracy and consistency
  • Communicate proactively with the Project Manager on uncertainties or edge cases

What will I need for the project

  • Medical training or clinical background (e.g. GP, medical officer, surgical trainee, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with basic surgical anatomy and instruments
  • Strong attention to detail and visual accuracy
  • Access to a laptop or desktop computer with a stable internet connection
  • Willingness to learn digital annotation tools (training is provided) and follow structured annotation guidelines
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete assigned frames reliably in a short timeframe from January 26th to 30th, 2026

Benefits

  • Contribute to real-world medical AI used in surgical and clinical settings
  • Earn paid tasks and be compensated for specialised medical annotation work
  • Flexible, remote-friendly project structure
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary AI and a small healthcare team of contributors
  • Gain hands-on experience in medical AI development
  • Opportunity to continue as a subject-matter reviewer for future projects
