Job Summary
To drive sales, profitability and customer satisfaction by developing and executing category strategies. The Merchandising Manager is responsible for product assortment, pricing, promotion, supplier management and overall performance of the assigned category.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate attractive products to meet customer needs and align with business goals.
- Negotiate with suppliers for pricing, trading terms and best deal for the company.
- Deliver overall merchandise profitability which includes sales, Gross Margin, stocks and promotion to ensure delivery of financial targets.
- Collaborate with cross function departments to ensure products are ready for sell.
- Merchandising Management skillset to ensure the right products, pricing, promotion and Display meeting our KPI.
- Always alert to market trend and competitors activity and able to react the changes accordingly to achieve business goals and targets.
- Lead and manage a small merchandising team.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Business, Marketing or Retail Management related field.
- 3-5 years in category management, buying or merchandising preferably in grocery retail
- Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Good business acumen and strong commercial sense.
- Solid understanding retail operations, shopper behaviour and supply chain processes.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Willingness to travel when required.
