Operations Officer

Job Summary

The Operations Officer is responsible for executing and overseeing daily operational tasks within a specific department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process and verify various financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments, adhering to established procedures and deadlines.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly, collaborating with internal departments and external parties as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and transaction documentation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist in the preparation of operational reports and statistics for management review.
  • Monitor and escalate any unusual or suspicious activities in accordance with anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and guiding customers on banking processes.
  • Participate in the review and improvement of operational workflows and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce risks.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Support new product launches and system enhancements by assisting with testing and implementation.
  • Undertake any other operational duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Job Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in operations within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of banking products, services, and operational processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • A high level of integrity and commitment to ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
