About The Role

Reports to: Senior Microbiologist

What You'll Do

Microbiological Testing & Analysis:

• Conduct air monitoring and air particle counts as per the microbiological sampling plan to ensure controlled environmental conditions.
• Perform microbiological testing, including swabbing of fillers and CIP waters, following the established micro sampling plan.
• Carry out micro testing for cooling tunnels, warmers, and other equipment as per the sampling plan.
• Conduct testing for water treatment, simple syrup, final syrup, quasi syrup, and other related materials based on the micro sampling plan.
• Perform microbiological testing on finished goods, toll packer products, and trade sample products according to required specifications.
• Check and record micro results accurately. Report any out-of-spec results promptly to the next level for further action.

Laboratory Management & Equipment:

• Prepare and sterilize media for microbiological testing. Ensure that workstations are sanitized and organized for safe and efficient testing.
• Ensure the laminar flow hood is sanitized and maintained at all times to uphold the integrity of testing conditions.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in the microbiological laboratory, including the cleaning of utensils and proper disposal of media and plates according to regulatory requirements.

Proficiency Testing & Validation:

• Support the validation of new products by conducting necessary microbiological tests.
• Perform routine IFM or APTC or any other proficiency testing to ensure laboratory accuracy and reliability. Inventory & Troubleshooting:
• Maintain inventory of microbiological media, plates, and equipment to ensure that there are sufficient supplies for ongoing testing.
• Perform troubleshooting on microbiological issues, share findings, and collaborate with the process team to identify root causes. Propose corrective actions and implement action plans to address any non-conformance in microbiological testing.

What You Bring

• Education background in Microbiology, Food Science, Food Technology
• Working experience in microbiology, beverage/food manufacturing environment or related field
• Communicates effectively in both oral and written form
• Analytical skill, especially in the microbial field
