Job Description

  • To ensure timeliness and accuracy to meet turnaround time and that the daily test result is produced accurately and precisely.
  • Effective implementation and maintenance of MS ISO/IEC 17025 as well as Group Quality System.
  • Execute a variety of microbiological techniques including bacterial growth (anaerobic and aerobic), biofilms formation, bioreactor setup, bioremediation and biocorrosion studies.
  • Analyze, interpret, and troubleshoot experimental results to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Ensure that laboratory and experimental records (databases and e-notebooks) are up to date.
  • Help plan and design experimental procedures, draft protocols and SOPs.
  • Performing general housekeeping of the laboratory as required to ensure that the high-quality standards are met.
  • Participating in the implementation and maintenance of QC and assurance processes including but not exclusively, traceable reagents records and stock control.
  • Participating in the elaboration of technical reports in a timely manner to meet results delivery deadlines.
  • To ensure all the standard methods are up to date or the latest version.
  • To ensure all controlled quality procedures, test methods and document are kept confidentially and restricted within SGS premise.
  • Ensure Good Housekeeping and Good Laboratory practice in the laboratory.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by his/her superior.

Qualifications

  • Degree in biological or environmental engineering, microbiology, biotechnology, biochemistry or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a commercial or academic environment.
  • Excellent organization skills and sense of responsibility.
  • Proficient in working with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing.
