The Global Network Delivery organization is looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class Network Project Lead to join our growing team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to develop innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand.

The position responsibilities will include scaling support of several data center locations and be responsible for day to day assistance with capacity management. The Network Project Lead will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers, Network Deployment Planning team, infrastructure supply chain & procurement and network engineering team.

The ideal candidate will possess a technology background that enables them to understand the complexities of the sophisticated network architecture of Amazon data centers. To be a qualified candidate you must be highly autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and have experience in managing network deployment projects. They will be competent in networking principles, data center operations, cable infrastructure and fiber solutions.

This position will provide the individual with high levels of autonomous work with minimal supervision to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous, collaborative environment is essential for success.

In addition, this role may require international travels to support other cluster's projects.

Key job responsibilities
. Working closely with our Network Engineering & Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs and products.
. Managing work priorities through ticketing system and workflows & collaborating with various stake holders to remove project obstacles.
. Troubleshooting networking, routing and inter connectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction.
. Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
. Specifying Power and Cooling requirements and ensuring Hardware Racking/Stacking completed for new equipment.
. Completing customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system and project management workflows.
. Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
. Reasonable additional hours required as part of the project delivery requirements.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience delivering programs for large, cross-functional, global teams, using data and metrics to provide insights and drive improvements
- Expertise in network infrastructure, including cabling systems, fiber optics, diagnostic tools, and network fundamentals. The ideal candidate will leverage this technical knowledge to lead teams and optimize project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of network engineering and deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment, including hands-on physical infrastructure installations, hardware integration, racking, and cabling experience
- Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting
- Bachelor's degree, or experience working with networks, IT infrastructure, or system integration
- 1+ years of project management, including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks experience
