About the Job

Responsible to manage the network technical resources (this may include networking devices, firewalls, link load balancers, network monitoring, load balancers/ traffic managers, network inventory, configuration settings and files), and be responsible to provide network infrastructure solutions, delivery and support for the group. You will be required to manage the day-to-day activities of the equipment. You will also work closely with GEL partners, vendors and service providers to manage the overall IT network operations including infrastructure operations and the underlying technologies.

  • Manage, add, maintain and decommission network devices when required
  • Monitor the health of network devices
  • Provide technical assistance, support and remediation across all the network devices
  • Manage and backup configuration files and settings
  • Analysis of infrastructure and capacity planning for future projects/growth
  • Apply patches, firmware upgrades and bug fixes necessary to maintain the safe and reliable operations of the network infrastructure and devices
  • Facilitate meetings with various technical teams as well as third party vendors
  • Plan and lead network performance, stress and other testing on the network infrastructure landscape
  • Work with the infrastructure teams to ensure 100% system uptime and availability
  • Manage and execute system/ application installation, patching, rollouts, releases and upgrades
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network infrastructure related issues
  • Maintain inventory list and network devices, network topology documentation
  • Manage and maintain the enterprise monitoring system for network devices
  • Adhere to GEL operation processes and procedures, aligned to the GEL group's processes and standards, (ITMP, ITSS, TSS and etc.)
  • Manage and maintain the network devices to meet SLA
  • Manage and maintain network connectivity links
  • Work with vendors, partners and service providers to maintain SLA, resolve issues and assess root cause for remediation
  • Participate in GEL DR and BCP planning, exercises and execution
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
  • Other responsibilities entailed

We are looking for people who

  • Possess Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience successfully managing and deployment of network solutions or IT systems implementation and integration
  • Experience in working with multiple infrastructure teams and project teams (business, IT application and infrastructure teams)
  • Excellent network troubleshooting skills using various devices, brands and toolsets
  • Strong technical understanding of any three of the following:

  1. Networking and TCPIP
  2. Routing and switching
  3. IT Security devices, including firewalls
  4. CASB solutions
  5. Network Access Control Solutions
  6. Load balancers
  7. Link load Balancers
  8. Intrusion Prevention Systems or Intrusion Detection Systems
  9. Monitoring and alerting solutions
  10. Network authentication solutions

  • Ability to understand business processes and financial functions a plus
  • Strong oral and technical documentation skills
  • Experience with leading performance, stress and capacity testing is a plus
  • Analytical and intuitive to recognize non-performing or/and to realize the broader implications of project success or failures from the interdependencies in the portfolio
  • Excellent communicator with strong influencing skill set and able to manage conflicts
  • Team player who can lead in brainstorm session with peers to problem solve and make decisions
  • Self-driven with a positive attitude to champion for culture change management initiatives within IT and with interfacing Business stakeholders
  • Ability to motivate and enthuse mixed teams to ensure Service delivery and maximise the customer's experience
  • Ability to work with virtual teams from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
  • Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
