Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and setup of computer hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, scanners) and peripheral devices.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of hardware issues, such as diagnosing faults,
- replacing components (e.g., RAM, hard drives), and testing systems.
- Support network connectivity tasks, including structured cabling, patching networkports, configuring basic routers/switches, and resolving simple connectivity issues.
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, soware, and network related problems via phone, email, remote access, or in-person.
- Install and update software applications, drivers, and operating systems under supervision.
- Monitor basic network performance, check for issues, run diagnostic tests, and report problems to senior technicians.
- Assist in managing IT asset inventory, tracking hardware, and documenting equipment changes or movements.
- Conduct routine maintenance, such as hardware cleaning, applying updates/patches, and ensuring security soware is current.
- Support basic data backups, system recoveries, and user account management (e.g., passwords, profiles).
- Document all support acvies, resolutions, and procedures in a ticketing system.
- Collaborate with the IT team on minor projects, such as hardware upgrades or network expansions.
Requirements:
- Diploma or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field (SPM with relevant experience or certifications may be considered for fresh graduates).
- Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA (or equivalent entry-level credentials).
- 0-2 years of experience in IT support, hardware maintenance, or networking (internships, personal projects, or fresh graduates encouraged to apply).
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware components, operang systems (Windows, Linux basics), and networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, cabling).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia for interacting with users and team members.
- Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 20-25 kg) and work in various environments (office, server rooms).
- Own transport may be advantageous for occasional site visits.
- Willingness to work under supervision and potentially in shifts if required.
