NPI Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings and prepare Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analysis where required.
• Create and maintain the system Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Prepare Process Work Instructions (PWI).
• Generate and manage process drawings and related engineering documentation.
• Coordinate closely with internal departments to ensure smooth execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors regarding plating, machining, and other outsourced manufacturing processes.
• Monitor and update NPI project status to ensure timely follow-up and completion.
• Review First Article (FA) reports and ensure compliance prior to shipment.
• Ensure all NPI activities and system records are completed and closed accurately.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing processes, quality, and productivity.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal stamping, metal fabrication, or precision engineering industries.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 13485 standards is an added advantage.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and product development activities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Preferred Competencies

• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and project coordination.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and BOM management.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, surface finishing, and assembly processes.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
