Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and improve sheet metal manufacturing processes, including laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, powder coating, and assembly.
- Establish process flows, manufacturing methods, machine selection, and tooling requirements.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and process capabilities.
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement to reduce waste, rework, and production bottlenecks.
- Provide technical support to production teams and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and support new product introduction (NPI) activities from prototype to mass production.
- Define manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment requirements for new products.
- Develop and improve tooling, fixtures, jigs, and poka-yoke solutions to enhance quality and productivity.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Support equipment selection, installation, qualification, and capability improvements.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, yield, and productivity.
- Reduce scrap, rework, downtime, and customer complaints through engineering improvements.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, engineering standards, and document control systems.
- Provide engineering support for production escalations and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams to strengthen technical capabilities and performance.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Finance teams to achieve business objectives.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronic, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in sheet metal fabrication, metal stamping, or precision manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, finishing, and assembly.
- Experience in NPI, DFM reviews, process improvement, and problem-solving methodologies.
- Familiarity with tooling, fixtures, automation, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 13485 standards will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and English communication.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
