This role will be based in Sedenak, Johor, Malaysia

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for critical operations function management, effective daily leadership, and administration of data center critical operations and 24x7 crews with the objectives of safely, efficiently, and reliably operating, and maintaining the critical engineering infrastructure, systems, and equipment in a cost-effective manner.
  • Performing as a subject matter expert in one or more areas - critical electrical/mechanicals systems, infrastructure, and operational practices meeting the customer's needs, and a commitment to achieving the goal of 100% uptime.
  • Responsible for protecting and improving the assets value. Ensuring the critical systems reliably perform their intended function.
  • Possess hands-on operations knowledge on the critical facility systems and equipment especially during system trouble shooting.
  • Manage data center operation, maintenance, and oversee modification of all critical environment systems including mechanical, electrical, fire protection system and Building Monitoring System.
  • Accountable for the proper operations of command center. Ensuring the team deliver all tasks properly and professionally involving monitoring of building management system, incident management, problem management and change management.
  • Ensuring customer's service level agreement are compiled at all times, the SLA covers such as maintain data centre environment conditions, full uptime of critical system, incident escalation to customer within agreed timeline upon reported to monitoring centre, written incident report issue as required.
  • Ensuring Change Request Form and work method statement including LOTO required under Change Management Workflow Process for assigned facilities and systems.
  • Ensuring necessary MOP, SOP and EOP are developed, updated and executed with full compliance. Trained the team to understand when needed.
  • Ensuring data center are operated in compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines, including licenses and certifications promptly renewed.
  • Work closely with other function leaders such as with EHS manager to identify engineering safety hazards and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure staff and occupants work in a safe environment.
  • Ensuring and review 52 weeks or annual plan is renewed based on client schedule. Capacity management plans which would include infra-structure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications to ensure the building's future capabilities are maintained.
  • Work closely with Document Controller for all function operations are maintained and up to date, including building drawings and single lines as well as documentation mandated for the purpose of maintaining regulatory compliance with State or Local law.
  • Maintain effective communication with technical team, customers and vendors.
  • Collaborate with CFM, Critical Facility Management team in submission of customer reports on agreed timing. Be familiar with our contracted SLA with customer and ensure full compliance at all times.
  • Ensuring CFM and vendors are effectively and consistently trained and qualified for their assigned facilities and associated work in our critical environment.
  • Work requires strong formal conduct of operations skills, technical expertise, personal accountability, and effective execution of work activities commensurate with a highly critical environment and associated expectations for customer satisfaction and confidence.
  • Committed to operate after office hour and public holiday during emergency situation to provide support to the team and return to site if necessary. Required to standby 24x7 on call.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data center operations. Drive opportunities for process improvements, automation, and innovation to enhance operational effectiveness and scalability

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical and Facility Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines
  • 8 years and above related working experience
  • Data Center working experience is highly preferred
  • Applicants with working experience in critical infrastructures like Refinery or Oil & Gas Industries will be considered as well
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word, BMS, CMMS/DCIM, Microsoft BI.
