Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and operational direction across Production, Laboratory and Service functions.
• Translate business objectives into clear operational plans, targets and actionable priorities.
• Oversee daily production activities to ensure productivity, quality and delivery targets are achieved.
• Plan and optimise manpower, equipment, materials and other operational resources according to business needs.
• Monitor operational performance, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage Laboratory and Service operations, ensuring efficient workflow, timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Control operational costs, overtime and manpower utilisation while supporting annual budgeting and cost optimisation.
• Work closely with Sales, Quality, Logistics, Finance and HR to ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety requirements, regulatory requirements and relevant procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives including Lean, 5S, process standardisation, automation and digitalisation.
• Support factory expansion, equipment installation, production-line setup and other operational improvement projects.
• Develop supervisors and team leaders through performance management, training, coaching and succession planning.
• Act as a key escalation point for operational, customer and technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Foster a culture of accountability, discipline, teamwork, continuous improvement and customer focus across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrial or technical operations.
• Proven experience managing multiple operational functions, including Production, Laboratory, Service or technical operations.
• Strong experience in manpower, budget, KPI and operational performance management, preferably within a multinational manufacturing environment.
• Experience in project management, contractor coordination and cross-functional operations is highly advantageous.
