Due to continued overseas business expansion, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support our growing business in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall day-to-day operations of stores across Malaysia, ensuring compliance with Group standards in store operations, service, product quality, food safety, cleanliness, and brand image.
- Establish and continuously optimise store operating procedures, standards, audit mechanisms, checklists, and management tools to ensure effective local implementation.
- Track, analyse, and improve key business KPIs, including sales, profitability, costs, labour productivity, wastage, customer satisfaction, and food safety.
- Conduct regular store audits, operational diagnostics, and business reviews. Identify performance gaps, develop improvement plans, and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Lead operational support for new-store openings, including staffing readiness, pre-opening training, materials and equipment checks, soft-opening support, and post-opening performance follow-up.
- Manage, coach, and develop the local operations team, including Store Managers, Area Supervisors, and other operations personnel. Drive target setting, performance management, capability development, and team motivation.
- Support business partners and franchisees in store management, ensure compliance with Group operating standards, and provide operational coaching to improve store performance and quality.
- Work closely with Training, Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, Finance, HR, and Construction teams to resolve operational issues and support smooth business execution.
- Monitor Malaysia's F&B industry trends, competitors, consumer preferences, and regulatory developments, and provide practical recommendations to improve operational performance.
- Ensure stores comply with Malaysian food safety, labour, and regulatory requirements, with particular attention to Halal standards, requirements, and implementation.
- Undertake other operations-related projects and assignments as required by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of operations management experience within chain restaurants, QSR, F&B, or retail. Multi-store management experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end store operations, including sales growth, P&L and cost control, workforce management, product quality, customer service, and food safety.
- Proven hands-on experience in new-store openings, multi-store audits, operational improvement, business-data analysis, and Store Manager development.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical ability, with the capability to identify operational issues through business data and drive measurable improvements.
- Strong cross-functional communication, stakeholder management, coordination, and execution skills.
- Able to perform effectively in a fast-growing and rapidly changing business environment.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and results orientation.
- Willing and able to travel regularly to stores across Malaysia for operational reviews and business support.
- Fluent English and Bahasa Malaysia are required. Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
- Experience within Chinese restaurant chains, QSR, fast-casual dining, franchise operations, or rapidly expanding F&B brands will be an advantage.
