Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine pre-starts and post-starts check for plant system operations prior to start up and after the steady safe of operations as per planned schedule. Ensure the data recorded in the check sheet written accurately as per required.
- Perform routine round check for capturing site plant operations data to ensure healthiness of the running system and report to CCR for any abnormalities.
- Perform routine data collections from charts, meters and gauges at established intervals, and take corrective steps as necessary for daily statistical reports.
- Operates other plant auxiliary's equipment as directed by Shift Charge Engineer (SCE) or Central Control Room (CCR) such as Emergency Diesel Generator, Fire Fighting system, Water Treatment Plant, pumps and others as per plant testing schedule and monitor all the parameters as per specification.
- Open and close valves and switches in sequence upon signals from CCR, in order to start or shut down gas turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), Steam Turbine and other auxiliary units.
- Assist SCE to perform process isolations and de-isolations as required by Permit to Work (PTW) system and recommission the system after completion of maintenance.
- Make adjustments or minor repairs, such as tightening leaking and pipe joints if required; report any needs for major repairs.
- Monitor and inspect power plant equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problems.
- Act as fire-fighting team member or Emergency response team (ERT) for the plant and attend the scheduled or planned related training.
- Carry out and ensure housekeeping of the plant area to ensure kept and tidy all the times.
- Ensure that daily plant equipment status is relayed to the next shift appropriately, smoothly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, safety procedures, and company policies related to power plant operations. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhere to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidelines.
- Perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Education Qualification required:
- Diploma/Certificate in Engineering Disciplines
Minimum Mandatory Competency required:
- Internal Combustion Engine Driver Grade 2 (ICEDG2)
- Steam Engine Driver Grade 2 (SEDG2)
- Authorised Gas Tester & Entry Supervisor for Confined Space (AGTES).
- Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope:
- 3-6 years working experience in similar industry.
- Experience at least 2-4 years in CCGT power plant operations.
- Knowledgeable in Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and process principle.
Overall

- Able to work with minimum supervision and willing to adapt with new good changes or improvement.
- Able to guide junior Technician in performing tasks.

- Ability to write and speak in Bahasa Malaysia and English language.
