OPERATOR

Responsibilities

-Prepare laboratory equipment, materials, and consumables required for daily operation.
- Maintain laboratory readiness through proper organisation,cleaning, and maintenance of equipment, work areas, and facilities.
- Perform routine laboratory housekeeping activities.
- Perform plant tissue culture activities, including culture initiation and culture transfer (subculturing).
- Prepare stock solutions and culture media according to established SOPs.
- Involve in monitoring culture growth and maintaining proper culture handling practices.
- Involve in decontamination activities for contaminated cultures, laboratory equipment, and work areas.
- Involve in cleaning, washing, and preparing culture bottles and laboratory glassware for sterilisation and reuse.
- Involve in nursery operations, including plantlet transfer, preparation of planting substrates, and acclimatisation activities.
- Involve in routine plant maintenance, monitoring, and assessment of plant growth performance.
- Support nursery housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Involve in recording and maintaining accurate laboratory data, including culture observations, production records, and contamination monitoring.
- Involve in the preparation, labelling, and organization of culture materials to ensure proper identification and traceability.

Requirements

Qualification and Education:
- Minimum SPM or equivalent.
- Higher education in Agriculture field is an added advantage.
Experience:
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in laboratory or agriculture environment is an advantage.
- On-job training will be provided.
Technical Knowledge / Skills:
- Basic knowledge of laboratory cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Able to follow SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.
- Able to work for extended periods in a seated laboratory environment.

People's Knowledge / Skills:
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude with willingness to support operational requirements.
- Maintains good discipline, reliability, and commitment to quality work.
- Flexible and willing to assist in laboratory, nursery, cleaning, and other operational activities when required.
