Job Description

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • To ensure the production systems are operated safely and efficiently, in accordance with management systems whilst maximizing yields and recovery.
  • To utilize oil & gas processing skills and knowledge, for the safe and efficient operations of the platform processing and the subsea production control systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To operate hydrocarbon production systems and associated utilities in a safe and controlled manner with minimal environmental impact and in compliance with legislation and the requirement of the platform management systems.
  • Communicate with production operators, technicians and Well supervisor to optimize day to day oil and gas production activities.
  • In compliance with the platform management system, demonstrate a high standard of awareness and safe work practices.
  • Analyze production data and process performance to ensure timely identification of deviating trends and potential problems.
  • Respond to plant upsets and emergencies.

KEY AUTHORITIES

  • Participate in the onshore/offshore commissioning of the platform systems and equipment as part of an integrated team with the Contractor.
  • Provide input into the development of all operational procedures, with safety always being the prime importance.
  • Operation and Monitoring of the Integrated Control and Safety System for the platform topsides production, utility systems and adjusting as necessary.
  • Perform allocated task effectively and report all faults of process plant and utility systems and equipment to ensure maximum production and plant availability.
  • Monitor, test and operate subsea equipment and reservoir data.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of all production activities.
  • Carry out performance and compliance testing of wells and diagnosis and optimization on production systems.
  • Initiate and coordinate response instructions during plant upsets and emergency situations.
  • Act as required authority for the Permit to Work system, dependent on yet to be defined interface with PFLNG2.
  • To fulfill a specified Emergency Response role.

Incumbent may be required to undertake additional duties, which form part of the function of the job position. Incumbent will do so in compliance with the requirements of the Company's safety regulations and operating procedures and always act with due care and diligence.

WORKING RELATIONSHIP

  • Reports directly to the Superintendent, Subsea Operations, keeping him informed of all technical activities.
  • Liaise with all other disciplines and operating centers as necessary to define tasks and to establish equipment and system performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical apprenticeship or equivalent training scheme and educated to Diploma level in hydrocarbon production operations. Additional trade skills would be advantageous.
  • Preference to be an experienced production control room operator in either the offshore hydrocarbon industry or onshore petrochemical plant., however consideration will be made to technical positions, eg E&I, marine.
  • Previous Operational experience with ICSS and Aker MCS systems an advantage.
  • Positive and flexible work ethic.
  • Self-motivated eager to contribute to the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the plant and equipment.
  • Thorough and reliable worker operating to a high standard.
  • Ability to work and remain focused and decisive under pressure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative with limited supervision.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken is desirable.
  • Sensitive to the needs of a multi-cultural workforce.
  • Offshore Survival/Firefighting.
  • UKOOA Medical (or equivalent).
  • Safety Induction/Awareness course.
  • Permit to Work course.
  • Offshore Fire Team Member.
  • Basic Emergency First Aid.
  • Restricted Radio Operator Certificate.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Certificate.
  • Production Process Technology Certificate Level 3 or 4.
  • Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas.
  • Well Operations.
  • Vendor Courses as Identified.
