Role Description The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and ocular health screening for a diverse patient base. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and managing common vision problems, prescribing lenses and visual aids, and offering personalized advice on digital eye strain, workplace ergonomics, and preventive eye care. The role involves maintaining accurate clinical records, collaborating with corporate clients for screening programs, and participating in patient education and community outreach activities. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bota, requiring consistent presence in the clinic to support patient appointments and corporate engagements.

Qualifications

• Professional optometry qualifications, such as a recognized degree in Optometry and valid registration or licensure with the relevant professional body.
• Clinical competence in comprehensive eye examinations, refraction, binocular vision assessment, and detection of ocular pathology.
• Ability to manage digital eye strain, workplace vision optimisation, and provide evidence-based preventive care recommendations.
• Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle recommendations clearly and empathetically.
• Experience working with corporate clients or in occupational vision care is an advantage.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in clinical documentation and record keeping.
• Capability to work collaboratively in a small clinical team and to manage time effectively in a busy practice setting.
• Willingness to participate in community outreach, corporate screening collaborations, and ongoing professional development.
