Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, develop, unit test and maintain software application in support of the achievement of business requirements within the given timeline.
  • Ensure detail specification of the program to be coded is clear and understood well and follow standard coding practice and industry standard.
  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting support to help resolve technical issues with production systems by debugging, research and investigation.
  • Assist Team Leader in carrying out the unit test to ensure all bugs and mistakes are corrected in the programs written.
  • Prepare documentation on programming tips, standards and guidelines and transfer the knowledge to other junior programmers as and when required.
  • Progress of on-going tasks and issues on related matters; and continuously enhance expertise and knowledge on application development and other related technology and methodology.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in system development and demonstrate an excellence & expertise in the fields software development activities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with strong time management skills.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong team player with collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in writing queries and other database statements.
  • Strong development skills in Oracle Reports and PL/SQL.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of PL/SQL coding best practices.
  • Proficient in PL/SQL development, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, materialized views, and advanced batch coding techniques such as bulk collections, dynamic SQL, and parallel processing.
  • Skilled in system analysis, design, and development of back-end PL/SQL applications.
  • Expertise in Oracle SQL & PL/SQL optimization, including use of SQL Trace, TKPROF, EXPLAIN PLAN, hints, efficient SQL statements, and domain indexes.
  • Participate in performance tuning and system optimization activities.
  • Experience with database architecture, data modeling, database design, and implementation.
  • Hands-on experience in writing and debugging shell scripts to automate or support database processes.

Bonus Skills:

  • Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified.
  • Understanding data warehouse architecture concept.
  • Experience in Java web development.
  • Experience in leveraging Oracle 11G/12C features to their fullest on a large-scale system.
