Join Maxis as an OSS Engineering and Operations Intern, where you will gain hands-on experience supporting the Operation Support System (OSS) within the Network Division. This role offers exposure to OSS engineering, automation, application support, security compliance, and operational assurance, while working closely with experienced engineers and mentors in a fast-paced telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • OSS Development & Automation
  • Support the design, development, and enhancement of OSS applications and change requests.
  • Assist in digitalisation and automation initiatives, including:
    • Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
    • Business Intelligence and dashboards
    • AI / GenAI use cases
  • Apply programming and scripting skills such as Python, Java, SQL, Selenium, and React.
  • OSS Operations & Maintenance
  • Support OSS operational activities to ensure system availability and performance.
  • Assist in resolving application issues and implementing planned operational activities.
  • Support ongoing maintenance to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Dashboarding & Performance Monitoring
  • Build, enhance, and maintain weekly OSS dashboards for:
    • OSS funnel management (Change Requests & Projects)
    • OSS Support Tickets
  • Track delivery performance, SLA compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Support team weekly huddles using dashboards for reporting and decision-making.
  • Testing, Release & Change Management
  • Support:
    • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Post Implementation Reviews (PIR)
    • Release Management activities
  • Assist in requirement gathering for User Change Requests (UCRs) and assigned projects.
  • Compliance, Assurance & Documentation
  • Support security compliance activities and closure of security vulnerabilities.
  • Assist in Apparatus Assignment and Spectrum Assignment activities, including reporting and submissions to MCMC.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including:
    • User requirements
    • Design documents
    • UAT documents
    • User manuals
Value-Added Exposure

  • Participate in OSS digitalisation, automation, and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Gain exposure to real-world network operations, assurance processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Network Division to propose and implement system improvements.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge or interest in:
    • OSS / network systems
    • Software development and automation
    • Databases and dashboards
  • Familiarity with Python, SQL, Java, Selenium, or React is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a technical operations environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
