OutSystems Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance responsive web and mobile applications using OutSystems.
• Translate business requirements, user stories and process flows into application components.
• Develop user interfaces, business logic, data models, validations and role-based access controls.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and support SOAP integrations where required.
• Write and optimise SQL queries and data access logic.
• Perform unit testing and support SIT and UAT activities.
• Troubleshoot application issues and resolve defects within agreed timelines.
• Participate in code reviews and address application quality, security and performance findings.
• Support application deployments, environment promotions and post-release validation.
• Investigate production incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to Agile activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, demonstrations and retrospectives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience with hands-on OutSystems development.
• Experience using OutSystems Service Studio across application development, data, logic, integrations and security.
• Experience developing Reactive Web applications. Exposure to Mobile or Traditional Web applications is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including relationships, indexes, transactions and query optimisation.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication and error handling.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript for UI customisation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Git or equivalent version-control tools.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

• OutSystems Associate Reactive Developer, Associate Developer ODC or equivalent certification.
• Experience with OutSystems LifeTime, Service Center, AI Mentor Studio or Forge components.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure and related Microsoft technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding or IAM/SSO integration.
• Experience supporting applications in public sector, healthcare or financial services environments is an advantage.
