About the role
This position plays a vital role in expanding and strengthening Compassion Hong Kong's partnerships with churches. The role focuses on building awareness of our ministry among pastors and church leaders and activating new partnerships across Hong Kong.
You will work with an existing portfolio of church relationships and develop warm leads into long-term partnerships. This is a strategic, outward-facing role ideal for someone passionate about building relationships and making a tangible impact.
The successful applicant's core responsibilities will be to:
- Identify, activate, and grow new church partnerships in Hong Kong;
- Evaluate, identify, and develop new initiatives that will enhance the mission of Compassion and meet the needs of Compassion's church partners;
- Work closely with other Compassion team members and the wider Compassion organisation;
- Regularly plan, prepare and lead Compassion presentations at churches in Hong Kong;
- Build and strengthen relationships with Compassion's volunteer presenters;
- Participate in domestic or international travel with strategic partners to facilitate increased understanding and engagement with Compassion's work, as required.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic partnerships manager to join our experienced Compassion Hong Kong team. The right candidate will be driven and self-motivated to engage the church and see many new church partnerships opened up in Hong Kong. This role would suit a passionate and motivated individual with the ability to communicate effectively in churches.
What you will bring to the team
- Local Philanthropy Expertise - strong understanding of and networks within the local philanthropic fundraising landscape;
- Global Development Insight - knowledge of global poverty and community development principles;
- Strategic Stakeholder Engagement - experience in building strategic relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and long-term engagement;
- Lead Generation - Skilled in identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships to generate high-quality leads, fostering long-term relationships that drive mutual business growth and enhance market reach;
- Influential Communication Skills - ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively across diverse audiences, ensuring engagement, understanding, and influence;
- Presentation Proficiency - strong ability to negotiate favourable outcomes and deliver compelling presentations, effectively engaging and influencing diverse audiences;
- Data-Driven Decision Making - ability to analyse customer databases to generate insightful reports that inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth;
- Results-Driven - proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets/goals;
- Knowledge and networks within the local church context;
- Proficient in written and spoken English. Ability to speak Mandarin is an advantage but not essential.
