Reporting to the Unit Head of Partnership, this individual is to develop, grow and manage new and existing strategic partners to drive the wallet business growth in terms of revenue, gross transaction volume, number of users and spend per user through strategic account development and management for the wallet use cases, Payflex, Embedded Bank and any other potential new use cases for the wallet.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnerships (eWallet Growth & Market Expansion):
- Develop and execute strategic partnership plans to grow Boost eWallet MTU, transaction frequency, and revenue across targeted markets and segments.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new strategic partners from new expanding markets, including merchants, platforms, service providers, and ecosystem players that drive wallet adoption and usage.
- Build, manage, and deepen long‑term relationships with key partners, acting as the primary point of contact for strategic collaboration.
- Expand existing partnerships to unlock new wallet use cases, higher engagement, and incremental revenue opportunities.
- Lead partnership discussions, structure commercial and operational terms, and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements.
- Work closely with Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Operations, and Risk teams to ensure smooth partnership onboarding, launch, and execution.
- Track and manage partner performance against defined KPIs, with a strong focus on MTU growth, transaction uplift, and revenue contribution.
PayFlex (Buy Now Pay Later):
- Drive the growth and distribution of Boost's BNPL product, PayFlex, through strategic merchant and platform partnerships.
- Identify and onboard partners that can scale PayFlex adoption, increase transaction volumes, and expand PayFlex use cases.
- Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Operations teams to structure PayFlex partnership models, commercial terms, and go‑to‑market strategies.
- Launch and manage PayFlex‑led campaigns and initiatives aimed at increasing MTU, repeat usage, and average transaction value.
- Monitor PayFlex partner performance and campaign outcomes, providing insights and recommendations to optimise growth and profitability.
Embedded Banking:
- Lead partnership initiatives to grow embedded banking offerings within the Boost eWallet, including payments, savings, and other financial services use cases.
- Identify and develop partnerships with banks, financial institutions, and ecosystem players to enable and scale embedded banking capabilities.
- Work closely with internal Product, Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams to ensure embedded banking partnerships are compliant, scalable, and commercially viable.
- Drive adoption and usage of embedded banking features to increase wallet engagement, MTU, and revenue contribution.
- Track performance of embedded banking partnerships and initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall wallet growth objectives.
- Provide regular updates, performance reports, and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare business proposals, partnership decks, performance analyses, and other administrative documentation as required.
Account Management and Administration:
- Works closely with internal stakeholders such as Product Owners, TechOps, Legal, Finance, Marketing and Customer Experience team when issues related to payments, customers complaints, partners complaints etc. are escalated to Partnership team.
- Maintain partnership contracts and reports in an organized manner in Sharepoint for easy access of other team members.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree with at least 8 years of working experience in Partnerships, Business Development, or Strategic Alliances, preferably within fintech, payments, BNPL, digital banking, or platform‑based businesses.
- Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial thinking with the ability to translate strategy into execution.
- Self‑motivated and results‑driven, with proven ability to manage multiple partnerships and deliver measurable growth outcomes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, project management and interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team with a collaborative management style.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Candidate must have intermediate/advance Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel skills.
- Strong executional excellence with exceptional attention to detail and accountability.
