Job Description

Company Description The Energy Source (TES) is a multidisciplinary child development centre founded in 2014, dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive education and therapy services for children and their families. Based in Malaysia, TES was created to offer accessible and coordinated support for both neurotypical and neurodiverse children in a single, family-centered setting.

Role Description The Pediatrics Physiotherapist will be required to work within multidisciplinary team to provide clinical advice and support to therapists and other staff, and work on an individual basis to provide high level clinical consultations, assessments, interventions and therapeutic support to individuals, families, caregivers and where appropriate, medical service providers, schools and educational facilities to address physiotherapy, primitive reflex and sensory needs.

Working under the direction of the Rehabilitation Manager, the Pediatrics Physiotherapist will be required to;

o Provide a range of Physiotherapy services, assessments, interventions and therapeutic support to children, young people and families including but not limited to developmental, neurological, sensory and musculoskeletal.

o Conduct a range of non-standardised and standardised Physiotherapy assessments for children and young people.

o Provide clinical advice to staff about ethical and effective ways to address the physiotherapeutic needs of clients including but not limited to developmental, neurological, sensory and musculoskeletal.

o Contribute to the design, business development, staff training and knowledge and evaluation of programmes, services and processes including, but not limited to, physiotherapy, primitive reflex, sensory, and multisport.

o To take on and perform any other forms of responsibility and tasks handed over or delegated by the Rehabilitation Manager, General Manager or Director.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide Paediatric Physiotherapy services to clients :

o Undertake developmental, movement, coordination, balance, reflex, sensory and other relevant assessments with children, young people and families, specifically including, but not limited to, Sensory Integration, Movement ABC-2, Peabody, Beery VMI, Alberta Infant, Mobility Scale and Retained Primitive Reflexes.

o Design, evaluate and assist in the implementation of evidence-based Physiotherapy interventions and therapeutic practices.

o Assess the equipment needs of clients in relation to daily activities including but not limited to sleeping, sitting, safe transport, mobility and activities of daily living.

o Recommend, or where possible, prescribe adaptive equipment and assistive devices to facilitate and enhance mobility and function.

o Track individual client progress using therapeutic outcome measures and to prepare and assist in the implementation and review of individual Care Plans, utilising neurodiversity- affirming SMART goals.

o Consult and liaise regularly with families, carers, advocates and significant others, including where appropriate medical service providers, schools and educational facilities.

2. Clinical Research, Advice and Support :

o Conduct relevant research to assist in the improvement and evaluation of physiotherapy, movement, motor planning, balance, reflex and sensory services, assessment reports and therapy programmes.

o Provide clinical advice, peer supervision and debriefing to colleagues as required, including attending weekly MDT meetings and other specific case meetings.
