ABOUT PEMACU KERJAYA
PEMACU KERJAYA by VentureTECH is a structured 12-month contract-based programme that provides graduates with valuable industry exposure through on-the-job training at selected VentureTECH investee companies, complemented by structured development modules. The programme aims to develop Bumiputera graduates through practical job placements and training, equipping them with industry knowledge, technical competencies, and professional skills to support their career growth.
Position: PEMACU KERJAYA, Laboratory Technologist / R&D Engineer
Eligibility: Open to fresh graduates and entry-level candidates.
Placement at: ACME Chemicals (M) Sdn Bhd
Location: Port Klang, Malaysia
JOB SUMMARY
To support research, development, laboratory, and quality control activities through experimental design, laboratory testing, data analysis, and accurate technical documentation. This role contributes to new product development, product improvement, process optimization, and technical support while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental management systems.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- Strong academic performance in SPM including Modern Mathematics (A), Biology (A), Chemistry (A).
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; prior laboratory or R&D experience is an added advantage.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
1. Laboratory, R&D & Process Technology Activities
- Conduct laboratory experiments, bottle tests, pilot studies, and field trials for new and existing products.
- Analyse chemical, biological, and process-related samples accurately and timely.
- Support grant-based and internal R&D projects under the guidance of Senior R&D Engineer.
- Assist in process improvement and optimization initiatives.
- Prepare formulated and resale product samples for internal evaluation and customer testing.
- Conduct literature reviews to support product development, methodology selection, and technology validation.
- Participate in technical discussions related to formulation, manufacturing processes, and product applications.
2. Equipment, Calibration & Sample Management
- Perform laboratory equipment calibration, verification, and routine maintenance.
- Maintain calibration records, equipment status, and monthly laboratory activity reports.
- Track laboratory equipment movement and incoming/outgoing samples.
- Ensure proper laboratory housekeeping and adherence to safety practices.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Record all laboratory, QC, and R&D activities accurately in the TSR system.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for New Product Requests (NPR) and New Product Proposals (NPP).
- Prepare laboratory reports and present findings to supervisors and management when required.
- Assist in preparing technical service reports, product proposals, and project documentation.
- Develop and maintain SDS, product datasheets, application guides, and hazard classifications.
- Support preparation of mass balances, block flow diagrams, and other technical deliverables.
- Maintain organized cataloguing of samples, kits, and product documentation.
4. Cross-Functional & Technical Support
- Support Technology & Engineering projects, including technology application and integration during execution.
- Work closely with Production to develop procedures and work instructions for new and existing products.
- Assist QA/QC activities including review of Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs), procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Support Sales and Technical Teams in handling customer complaints, technical inquiries, and corrective action proposals.
- Assist in customer presentations and preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
5. Others
- Ensure laboratory safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements are strictly followed.
- Participate fully in QMS, EMS, and HSEMS initiatives.
- Support EMS monthly monitoring and reporting activities.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
