PhD in Molecular Biology

We are looking for one motivated PhD student to join our research team at the UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

The successful candidate will work on the project:

Development of a Matrix-Resilient DNA Extraction, RPA Amplification and CRISPR/Cas12a-Assisted Detection Workflow for Multi-Species Halal Authentication.

This multidisciplinary project combines food science, molecular diagnostics, DNA extraction, isothermal RPA amplification, CRISPR/Cas12a detection and biosensor development, with the ultimate aim of developing a robust and practical molecular workflow for halal authentication across different food matrices and animal species.

We are seeking a Malaysian candidate with a Master's degree in Biotechnology, Food Science, Biomedical Science or a related field, with CGPA >3.0. Candidates who are independent, hardworking, willing to learn new technologies and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary research environment are strongly encouraged to apply.

A monthly stipend will be provided.
