About the role...

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated PHP Developer to join us. The successful candidate will also constantly provide value-adding inputs to enhance the features of our tech products.

The tech team in TSL Media creates our own proprietary tech that helps support our companies such as media monitoring/data systems and our own internal HR system. The team also maintains all the websites and web services across the organisation, all of which are challenging major roles that would look great on your CV.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Customize existing plugins and themes to meet specific business requirements.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve front-end and back-end issues.
  • Ensure site performance, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Maintain documentation of code, configurations, and processes.
  • Familiarity with headless WordPress or REST APIs.
  • Understanding of SEO and accessibility best practices.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc assignments as required

The successful candidate should have:

  • At least 23 years of proven experience in WordPress and PHP development.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress core, themes, and plugin architecture.
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
  • Experience with plugin customization and third-party integrations.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality code on schedule.
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills.
