Role Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Planner with expertise in SAP to join our team. The Production Planning Administrator will play a vital role in supporting our production planning efforts by assisting with administrative tasks, managing SAP databases, and ensuring efficient scheduling and resource allocation. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working with SAP in a production or manufacturing environment and possess strong organizational skills.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilize SAP software to manage and maintain production planning data, including production schedules, material requirements, and inventory levels
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of production planning documents, including production work orders, and reports.
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely completion of production orders and adherence to production schedules, utilizing SAP for scheduling and resource allocation.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, including production managers, procurement staff, and warehouse personnel, providing information and support as needed through SAP communication channels.
- Assist with data analysis and reporting tasks, extracting relevant information from SAP databases to generate reports and identifying trends in production performance.
- Collaborate with the IT department to troubleshoot any technical issues related to SAP usage within the production planning department.
- Provide training and support to production planning staff on SAP usage and best practices for data management and analysis.
- Assist in the development and implementation of production planning procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed about relevant SAP updates and enhancements, evaluating their potential impact on production planning processes, and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Partner with the master planner to evaluate monthly forecasted demand and capacity requirements.
- Work with Account Operation (AO) to manage end-to-end sales order fulfillment by generating, releasing, and adjusting monthly capacity plans across multiple production areas to align with operational targets and delivery expectations.
- Oversee production execution by tracking daily output across CNC machining, wet processing, cleanroom assembly, final packing, and shipment, ensuring adherence to committed schedules and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to support new product introductions (NPI), optimize cycle times and integrate preventive maintenance schedules into planning models.
- Coordinate closely with buyers and material planners to ensure just-in-time availability of materials, avoiding shortages and production downtime.
- Conduct cost variance analysis with finance team on materials, labor hours, and process routing to support financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to analyze data and identify trends, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Education, Certifications, Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in business administration, operations management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with SAP software in a production or manufacturing environment, with proficiency in SAP modules relevant to production planning.
- Previous experience in a production planning or manufacturing role, with knowledge of production scheduling, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
