Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Localized Operations: Formulate long-term factory development plans aligned with Group strategy; adjust operational strategies based on local market characteristics; lead the localization of supply chains and talent; and ensure compliance with regulations regarding the ratio of expatriate to local employees.
2. Production Operations & Quality Management: Oversee overall factory production operations; formulate and execute annual production plans to meet capacity, quality, and cost targets; drive process optimization and technical innovation; and establish and maintain a quality management system compliant with international standards (e.g., ISO 9001) to ensure continuous improvement.
3. Supply Chain, Logistics & Export Management: Manage logistics, production scheduling, and export activities, ensuring alignment between the supply chain and customer demand; ensure compliance with Malaysian export regulations (e.g., Certificates of Origin); optimize logistics costs; and coordinate localized processes such as customs clearance and port transportation.
4. EHS & Compliance Risk Management: Assume full responsibility for EHS management, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 and ISO 45001 standards; manage labor relations risks, including union relations, employee grievances, and strike prevention, in compliance with the Industrial Relations Act; and monitor environmental compliance to avoid penalties from the Department of Environment (JAS).
5. Financial Control, Team Building & External Coordination: Formulate annual budgets and monitor costs to ensure profitability targets are met; foster the integration of a multicultural team and improve employee retention through training and career development; represent the factory in dealings with government agencies and maintain stakeholder relationships; develop emergency response plans for contingencies; and regularly report to headquarters, coordinate technology transfers, and execute tasks assigned by senior management.
Job Requirements
1. Education: Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or related fields are preferred.
2. Experience: 10+ years of experience in manufacturing plant operations management, including at least 5 years of experience in plant manager roles.
3. Professional Knowledge: Familiarity with Malaysian labor laws, EHS regulations, and export trade rules; familiarity with international standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
4. Language Skills: Fluent in English, Chinese and Malay.
5. Core Competencies: Excellent cross-cultural management, government relations and stakeholder management, crisis and emergency management, and capabilities in cost control and profitability management.
