Position Objective:
This position is responsible to conduct statistical analysis for decision management, perform pricing assumption modelling and analysis for Corporation Solutions (CS) with minimal technical guidance, and provide insights and recommendations to the stakeholders to make data-driven decisions. Besides that, this position is responsible to support CS strategy by providing data and analysis and support on product development. Actuarial benefit is provided.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and validate accuracy of CS P&L (Byline) and provide commentary on claim ratio in Management Reporting.
- Produce Loss Ratio Report and provide / present recommendations to Management to meet the targeted profitability.
- Conduct pricing assumption analysis (including development, maintenance), e.g. Manual Rate, Medical Inflation studies, IBNR assumption.
- Support the Pricing Teams (New Business & Renewal Business) in Pricing Model via analysis and recommendation.
- Ensure scheduled and ad-hoc Analysis and Management Reports are delivered on timely manner and at the highest quality.
- Design and maintain data extraction tools (Data Centre) for Sales Teams to self-serve.
- Support CS decision management via analytical insight.
- Contribute in Projects and/or Initiatives as Subject Matter Expert in Data and Analytics.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis request and report from various stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to junior team member in handling their daily tasks.
- Support CS product / marketing team in product development.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
- Assist the team lead in managing resource planning.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Actuarial Science
- Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience in pricing and insurance
- Knowledge / Experience in any of the following areas is an added advantage
- Actuarial, Statistics and/or Data Science
- Pricing Modelling, i.e. development, application, management, e.g. predictive modelling
- Group Business
Specific Skills:
- Poses business acumen and commercial awareness, able to see things from customer's perspective, especially in Group Insurance (Business Model & Rules, Processes)
- Proficiency in statistical and computing skill including interactive business intelligent tool, e.g. Excel, Access, SQL, Tableau
- Advanced in analytical methodologies, data mining and translate insight into actionable plan
- Ability to articulate the findings / insights to layman terms and communicate to stakeholder at all levels
- Ability to work in environment with rapidly changing priorities, adaptable to change
- Can-Do personality, eager in problem solving
