Power BI Developer (Assistant Manager)

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager - BI - IT Development is responsible for supporting the design, development, and maintenance of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions that provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role combines hands-on technical development with assisting in team coordination, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of BI deliverables. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the BI Manager and various business stakeholders to translate complex data into intuitive reports, dashboards, and analytical tools, aligning BI initiatives with strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable BI solutions, including interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using industry-leading BI tools.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to ensure timely and accurate data flow from various source systems into data warehouses/marts.

• Assist in designing and implementing efficient data models (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) for optimal BI reporting and analytical performance.

• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs, translating complex business requirements into technical specifications.

• Implement and monitor data quality checks, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data used in BI solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.

• Proven experience in Business Intelligence development.

• Strong proficiency in SQL (complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).

• Hands-on experience with at least one major BI visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense/View).

Skills & Abilities

• Deep expertise in SQL, chosen BI tools, and ETL processes. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.

• Exceptional ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and translate raw data into actionable business insights.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of data discrepancies or performance issues in BI solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure data accuracy, report precision, and adherence to design specifications.
